Srinagar, Sep 29: The Association of Kashmir Tour Operators (AKTO) held its 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Hotel Wisaal, Srinagar, with members taking stock of the association’s activities and organisational developments during the past year.
The meeting began with a welcome address, followed by the presentation of the association’s Annual Report, which highlighted its activities, achievements and initiatives undertaken during the preceding year.
The AGM also witnessed the announcement of the new office bearers of AKTO. Nazir Ahmed Mir was appointed Chairman, while Bashir Ahmed Bhat was named Vice Chairman.
Hakim Shahid Hussain was appointed General Secretary, with Peerzadah Shahnawaz as Joint Secretary. Ms Mudasir Khuroo was appointed Finance Secretary, while Younis Jeelani was named Chief Organiser.
As part of the proceedings, certificates and mementos were presented to active members in recognition of their participation and contributions to the association’s activities.
Members discussed the need for continued coordination and collective efforts to strengthen the tourism and travel trade in Kashmir. They expressed their commitment to promoting greater cooperation among tour operators and working towards the development of tourism-related activities in the region.
The AGM concluded with appreciation for the contributions made by members during the past year and conveyed best wishes to the newly appointed office bearers for their tenure.
The association said the new team would work towards strengthening the organisation and addressing issues concerning tour operators while contributing to the growth and development of Kashmir’s tourism sector.
