Srinagar, Sep 29: The Sufi-Shiva Conference and National Harmony Awards 2026 was held with great enthusiasm and participation at Town Hall, Pahalgam, bringing together hundreds of people from different sections of society. As per a statement, the programme also marked the celebration of World Tourism Day, adding further significance to the occasion.
The conference was jointly organised by Sarhad, Pune, Maharashtra, and the Himalayan Welfare Organization (HWO), J&K, with the objective of promoting the values of peace, communal harmony, brotherhood, mutual respect and human solidarity through the shared philosophical traditions of Sufism and Shaivism.
The Chief Guest, MLA Dooru Ghulam Ahmad Mir, in his address, shed light on the fundamental principles of the Sufi-Shiva philosophy and emphasised the importance of harmony, coexistence and understanding among people belonging to different faiths and communities.
