Anantnag, Oct 4: A carpenter died and another man was injured on Sunday after they fell from the rooftop of a mosque while carrying out work in the Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said.

The two were working on the rooftop of Hamam Masjid when they slipped and fell, sustaining critical injuries.
They were taken to Government Medical College Anantnag, where one of them succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased was identified as Javaid Ahmad Khan, son of Ghulam Mohammad Khan, of Hassanpora, Bijbehara. The injured man was identified as Shab-ul-Islam Ganai, son of Mohammad Jamaal Ganai, also of Hassanpora.
Police have started an investigation into the incident.
