Ganderbal, Oct 8: In a major youth outreach initiative aimed at promoting national integration and cultural awareness, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Sector Headquarters, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Imtiaz Ismail Parray, flagged off the ‘Bharat Darshan Tour’ organised by 13 Battalion SSB for youth and students.
The flag-off ceremony was held at the 13 Battalion Headquarters and was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal Sudhanshu Dhama, senior SSB officials, participating youth and their families.
Speaking at the event, DIG Imtiaz Ismail Parray emphasised the significance of exposure visits for young minds in broadening their horizons. He highlighted that the Bharat Darshan Tour is a flagship initiative of the SSB designed to deepen engagement with local communities and strengthen the force’s connection with the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
“This initiative helps us build a strong, meaningful bond with our youth,” DIG Parray remarked. “Giving these young minds an opportunity to travel across the country, witness India’s rich history, diverse cultures, and rapid modern growth, instils a deeper sense of national unity and confidence.”
During the educational tour, the youth will visit several historic and cultural landmarks across major Indian cities, including Delhi and Bhopal. He said around 30 student participants will get the opportunity to visit important historical monuments and prominent cities across India.
He further informed that during the tour, the students will also have the opportunity to interact with senior dignitaries and leadership, including the Governor and the Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal, which will serve as a source of inspiration and motivation for the young participants.
The participating youth expressed gratitude to the Sashastra Seema Bal for organising the initiative, noting that for many, it would be their first opportunity to explore major metropolitan cities across India.
Adequate security, travel and logistical arrangements have been made by the force to ensure a safe and enriching experience for the group.
