Searches launched in Reasi after suspicious movement

Jammu, Oct 10: Security forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Rad Pull area of Thakrakote in Reasi district on Saturday following reports of suspicious movement.

Joint teams of Army, Police were conducting searches in Rad Pull and adjoining forest areas after reports of noticing suspicious movement in the area during the intervening night of October 9 and 10.

So far, any breakthrough eluded the security forces engaged in the operation.

Earlier, on October 4, the joint teams of the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) had conducted intensive Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) in different villages and adjoining forest stretches in Rajouri and Udhampur districts, following reports about suspicious movements.

In Rajouri district, the intensive searches were undertaken after a youth, resident of Ladian border village of Sunderbani alleged that an attempt to abduct him was made by three suspects, while he was sleeping in the verandah of his house late October 3, 2026 night yet he managed to escape.

Later the family of youth alerted the Police and the Army, who immediately cordoned the area and launched searches in and around the village. The searches were expanded to Kali Dhar, Dua Khad forests of Rajouri district.

Search operations were also conducted in Mandugala Dhok forests in Rajouri district and Chigli Keya village in Udhampur districts after the locals reported the movement of suspects.

On September 28 and 29 also, the security forces had conducted joint intensive searches in Rajouri, Poonch and Kathua districts amid reports about suspicious movements.

Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) were launched in Panjwari-Kathera stretch of Kathua district; Peer Khana, Potha Narota, Andh, Thanda Pani and Kansar villages of Rajouri district and Upper Kasbalari, Theratopa, Nagal Gali, Kalaban and Patnateer villages in Poonch district.
