Srinagar, Oct 11: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday condemned the alleged use of force by Delhi Police against Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas, calling it unacceptable and indefensible.

“Unacceptable use of force by Delhi Police. Beating up an unarmed protestor, setting aside the fact that in this case the victim is actually an elected member of Parliament, is unacceptable under any circumstances and is indefensible,” Omar said in a post on X.

“I join all my JKNC colleagues in condemning this reprehensible brutality,” he added.

Omar’s remarks came after the Communist Party of India (Marxist) alleged that Brittas was brutally attacked by Delhi Police and later left by the roadside in an injured and distressed condition.

“Delhi Police has crossed all limits,” the CPI(M) said in a post on X.
