Kupwara, Oct 11: Two persons were killed and two others injured after a car collided head-on with a motorcycle in the NeeliporaMagam area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday evening.
A police official said that a car, JK05A-9562, collided head-on with a motorcycle, JK09E-8313, resulting in the on-the-spot death of two youth who were motorcycle riders.
The deceased have been identified as Tahir Ali Sheikh, son of Ali Muhamnad Sheikh, and Amir Bashir Najar, son of Bashir Ahmad Najar, both residents of Sulkoot, Kupwara.
The injured have been identified as Adil Rashid Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar, a 28-year-old resident of Sopore and Liyakat Ahmad Dar, son of Sanaullah Dar, a 30-year-old resident of BadraPayeen area of Kralgund.
Both injured persons were shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara for treatment.
