Srinagar, Oct 29: Over 3,000 people participated in the ‘Pedal Through Paradise 2026’ cycle race organised by J&K Police in Srinagar on Thursday, with ADGP Armed Nitish Kumar saying the turnout reflected growing awareness about fitness in Kashmir.

He said organised under the Fit India initiative, the event featured different categories, including children, women and participants above the age of 45. “This is a very auspicious occasion. And it shows how awareness has increased towards fitness in Kashmir. And how people are passionate about health,” he said.
Highlighting the participation of young children, Kumar said one child had even come in a cradle to participate in the race.
He said a concluding ceremony would be held at the Police Golf Course, where Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha was the chief guest, and the participants and winners would be awarded.
