Gopal Vittal, Executive Vice Chairman of Airtel, termed the milestone a “great responsibility,” reaffirming the company’s focus on innovation, reliable connectivity, and customer trust through continued investment in advanced technologies and secure networks.
Airtel’s operations span India and Africa, backed by expanding digital services and infrastructure. In India, the company serves over 368 million mobile users and has rolled out 5G Plus services, alongside offerings like Xstream AirFiber, IPTV, broadband, and Digital TV. Its enterprise arm, Airtel Business, delivers solutions across cloud, cybersecurity, IoT, and connectivity, supported by extensive subsea cable networks and green data centres.
The company has also entered the financial services space, leveraging data-driven insights to offer credit solutions via its app.
In Africa, Airtel serves over 179 million customers across 14 countries, with Airtel Money—its mobile financial platform—playing a key role in expanding financial inclusion, serving over 52 million users.
