Srinagar, Apr 2: In a significant push towards digital governance and ease of doing business, the Directorate of Horticulture Planning & Marketing, Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday launched two online services on the Jan Sugam Portal for traders in fruit and vegetable markets.
The services include issuance of fresh trade licenses and renewal of existing licenses, aimed at streamlining regulatory processes in the horticulture sector.
The initiative was launched by Ghulam Jeelani Zargar in the presence of Devender Singh Bhau, Megha Khajuria and other officials. The services have been developed by the IT Cell of the Information Technology Department.
Officials said the move marks a key milestone in the digital transformation of agriculture and horticulture-related services in the Union Territory. The online system is designed to make the licensing process time-bound, transparent and more accessible.
With the new services, traders and stakeholders can now apply for and renew licenses online without the need for physical visits, significantly improving convenience and efficiency.
The Directorate reiterated its commitment to leveraging technology for better service delivery and enhancing the overall experience of stakeholders in the agriculture and horticulture sectors.
