The initiative, launched under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, seeks to use real-life stories, expert insights and community engagement to strengthen awareness campaigns against drug abuse across the district.

Officials said Sindh Samvad will feature conversations with clinical psychologists, frontline workers, counsellors and individuals who have successfully overcome addiction. The series is designed to provide guidance, inspiration and practical information to young people vulnerable to substance abuse. “Through meaningful conversations with experts, frontline workers and individuals with lived experiences, Sindh Samvad seeks to educate, motivate and empower our youth to make informed and healthy choices,” officials said. The first episode of the podcast highlights the journey of a recovered youth who candidly shares how drug addiction disrupted his life and strained family relationships before rehabilitation, determination and family support helped him rebuild his future.

Officials said the initiative aims not only to raise awareness about the physical and psychological consequences of substance abuse but also to remove the stigma associated with addiction and recovery. By sharing stories of resilience and recovery, the administration hopes to encourage affected individuals to seek help and inspire others to stay away from drugs. The podcast forms part of the broader Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, under which district administrations across the Union Territory have intensified awareness programmes, counselling initiatives and community outreach efforts to curb drug abuse among youth. Authorities said the series will continue to feature experts and recovered individuals, creating a platform for dialogue and peer-level motivation to promote healthy lifestyles and strengthen the fight against substance abuse.
