Srinagar, Sep 22: The Spartans Open Badminton Tournament concluded on at the Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex (SKISC), GogjiBagh, bringing together an array of local shuttlers and sports enthusiasts from across the valley. The multi-day tournament, organised by the Spartans Badminton Club in collaboration with local sports authorities to promote grassroots racquet sports, featured competitive action across multiple categories including Under-15, Under-19, Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, and Women’s Singles.
Winner of Boys Under-11 Singles was Yawar Ahmad Rather, Boys Under-13 Singles , Yahya Ajaz. Boys Under-15 Singles, Ibrahim Yousuf Dar.
Boys Under-15 Doubles: Yahya Ajaz / Ibrahim Yousuf Dar. Boys Under-17 Singles, Ibrahim Yousuf Dar. Boys Under-19 Singles, Rehan Manzoor. Boys Under-19 Doubles, Amaan Bhat / Mohammad Ubaid Zargar. Girls Under-13 Singles, Inaaya Raafi Baba. Girls Under-17 Singles, Bhat Aqsa. Women’s Singles, Azra. Women’s Doubles, Maheem / Azra. A prize distribution ceremony marked the culmination of the championship. MLA WaheedurRehmanParta and besides others graced the occasion as chief guest, presenting trophies, medals, and certificates of merit to the winners and runners-up.
Addressing the gathering during the closing ceremony, the chief guest praised the organisers for creating an active competitive platform for the youth. “Events like the Spartans Open play a crucial role in directing youth energy toward constructive channels, promoting health, discipline, and sportsmanship across Kashmir,” Parra noted.
