Srinagar, Oct 8: In a move aimed at making government rules and regulations more accessible, Shahnawaz Qadir, Assistant Accounts Officer, Codes Division, and Feroz Ahmad Mir, Joint Director, Codes, have developed a dedicated JKCSR App providing mobile-based access to the J&K Civil Services Regulations, 1956.

The application is intended to simplify access to an important set of service and financial regulations frequently referred to by government officers and officials in the course of their duties.

The app provides a digital alternative to the voluminous physical volumes of the JKCSR, allowing users to access relevant provisions through mobile devices anytime and from anywhere.

Designed with an emphasis on simplicity and ease of navigation, the application provides structured access to the Regulations through part-wise, chapter-wise and article-wise navigation. Users can locate specific provisions without having to manually search through the physical volumes.

A key feature of the app is its search functionality, including customised search options, enabling users to quickly locate provisions relevant to their requirements. It also offers article-wise viewing and a simple reading interface for convenient reference.

Other features include quick access to provisions, copy and share options, an “Article of the Day” feature and notifications, along with other tools aimed at improving the user experience.

The mobile platform is expected to be particularly useful for officers and officials who frequently refer to the Regulations while dealing with service, pension, financial and other related matters. The developers said the initiative is aimed not only at reducing the time and effort required to locate specific provisions but also at encouraging greater familiarity with applicable rules among government employees and promoting informed and rule-based decision-making.

By bringing the JKCSR onto a mobile platform, the application provides an additional digital reference facility that can complement existing sources of official rules and regulations.

The developers have encouraged government employees to use the application and share feedback and suggestions for further improvement. They said user feedback would help make the application more comprehensive and user-friendly and facilitate the addition of new features in subsequent updates.

The JKCSR App is currently available on the Google Play Store for Android users. An iOS version is expected to be made available subsequently.

The initiative marks an effort to leverage technology to improve access to government regulations and support more convenient and efficient functioning of government offices.
