Shakeel Ahmad passed away at SKIMS on Monday night after suffering a brain haemorrhage on Saturday.

An artist by profession and an entrepreneur associated with multiple industrial activities, Shakeel had been actively involved with the industrial association of his estate for nearly three decades. He also represented the estate in FCIK and earned the respect of fellow entrepreneurs through his longstanding association with the industrial community.

Paying tributes to the deceased, FCIK Advisory Committee head Shahid Kamili recalled Shakeel’s commitment to the welfare of industrial estate members and his active participation in collective efforts to address issues confronting the sector.

“His passing leaves a void among colleagues who valued his experience, cooperation and dedication. His contribution will remain an honoured part of the fraternity’s collective memory,” Kamili said.

FCIK conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased, his elevated place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and strength and patience for his family to bear the irreparable loss.

Meanwhile, industrial associations across Kashmir held prayer meetings and paid tributes to the departed industrialist, recalling his contributions to the sector and his association with fellow entrepreneurs.

A special prayer meeting was organised by the industrial associations of Anchidora under the chairmanship of president Iftikhar Ahmad Misgar. Members recalled Shakeel’s services to the industrial estate and the wider industrial community and prayed for his eternal peace.

The Kashmir Small Scale Industrial Association (KSSIA), Baghi Ali Mardan Khan, also mourned his demise during its Executive Council meeting chaired by president Syed Fazal Illahi. Members expressed grief over his passing and offered prayers for the deceased and his bereaved family.

The Integrated Textile and Silk Park, Zakura, held a prayer meeting under the chairmanship of Syed Afaq Qadiri, with members paying heartfelt tributes to Shakeel and expressing sorrow over his sudden demise.

Condolences have also poured in from industrial associations and members of the business community in Baramulla, Sopore, Lassipora, Kupwara, Kulgam, Srinagar, Budgam and other districts of Kashmir.

FCIK said the widespread expressions of grief reflected the esteem in which Shakeel was held and the enduring relationships he had built through decades of service to the industrial fraternity.
