Srinagar, Apr 23: The Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association has issued a notification to players and officials, warning against participation in ‘unapproved tournaments and leagues’, and reiterating disciplinary action for violations.
In an official notice, the association referenced Rule 38 of its constitution, stating that it prohibits members, players, umpires, scorers, and officials from participating in or extending any form of support to tournaments not approved by JKCA.
The rule further empowers the Apex Council to take stringent action against violators, including suspension, stoppage of financial benefits, and other disciplinary measures.
JKCA officials, while speaking with Greater Kashmir on the development, said the association has adopted a strong and uncompromising approach towards such violations. They said that all individuals associated with JKCA must refrain from participating in any match, league, or event that does not fall under its domain or control.
“The move is aimed at ensuring that all associated players and officials remain governed by JKCA guidelines and maintain discipline within the system,” an official said.
The association, however, said it does not discourage local cricket but stressed that players affiliated with JKCA must operate within a structured and professional framework.
“There are continuous efforts to hone the skill sets of players at JKCA. Coaches and management closely monitor development and know where and how to work on a player. Every step is evaluated, and we do not want our players to drift into setups that fall outside the professional ecosystem,” a JKCA official added.
The JKCA official added that the directive is seen as a significant step towards strengthening discipline and maintaining a standardised development pathway for cricketers in Jammu and Kashmir.
