The Khyber Cement Kashmir Super League 2026, powered by Athwas Retail & Athwas Hyundai, paid a special tribute to some of the most respected names associated with the development of football in Jammu & Kashmir by honouring six distinguished football personalities for their outstanding contribution and dedicated service to the game.
As per a statement, The KSL Honours Ceremony was held on 23rd September 2026 during the Qualifier 2 of the Kashmir Super League 2026, providing a fitting platform to celebrate the individuals whose contribution has helped shape the football landscape of Jammu & Kashmir.
The distinguished personalities honoured by KSL were M Yousuf Dar, Abdul Majeed Kakroo, Prof. Bashir Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Shafi Nari, Sheikh Abdul Hameed and Nazir Ahmad Khan.
The honours were presented as a mark of gratitude, respect and recognition for their valuable contribution, commitment and service to football in Jammu & Kashmir.
The six personalities honoured by the Kashmir Super League represent an important part of that footballing journey. Through their respective contributions and association with the game, they have played a role in strengthening the football culture of the region and inspiring generations connected with the sport.
M Yousuf Dar, Abdul Majeed Kakroo, Prof. Bashir Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Shafi Nari and Sheikh Abdul Hameed were honoured at the ceremony in recognition of their contribution and service to football in Jammu & Kashmir.
Nazir Ahmad Khan, who was also selected for the KSL Honour, could not attend the ceremony due to his unavailability. However, the organisers formally acknowledged his contribution and included him among the distinguished football personalities honoured by KSL 2026.
The organisers emphasised that the growth of football requires a strong connection between its past, present and future. While KSL 2026 is providing a platform for the current generation of players and clubs, the league also believes in recognising the personalities who have contributed to the development of football over the years.
Speaking on the occasion, the KSL organisers said:
