Around 5000 Congress workers from J&K to attend Delhi rally on Nov 1: Bhalla

Jammu, Oct 25: Around 5000 Congress leaders and workers from all districts of J&K will participate in the mega rally at Ramlila Maidan New Delhi, scheduled to be held on November 1, as part of “Vote Bachao-Desh Bachao” campaign by I.N.D.I.A bloc.

This was disclosed here on Sunday by Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) working president Raman Bhalla in a press conference at PCC headquarter Rajiv Bhawan, Jammu.

Former minister Mula Ram, JKPCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma; DCC president Jammu urban Yogesh Sawehney; DCC president Jammu rural Neeraj Kundan and in-charge headquarter and ex MLC Ved Mahajan joined Bhalla in the press conference.

“The people of this country will not tolerate the hijacking of the electoral system by BJP through CEC,” Bhalla maintained, adding that the rally was evoking tremendous response from all districts of J&K. Ravinder Sharma said that there was massive response from people regarding the campaign by Congress party led by LOP Rahul Gandhi against, what he alleged, “various modes of vote Chori.”

“Now every citizen in this country is convinced that the Modi government and BJP are behind Vote Chori through CEC Gyanesh Kumar. The frustration of BJP government is evident from the fact that they have directed their party cadres to launch counter offensive against Congress party and in furtherance of this, the local BJP unit has attempted to attack Congress headquarter in Jammu, more than twice in the past couple of months,” he alleged.

Congress leaders claimed that the frustration of ruling BJP would further increase with every passing day due to massive support to “Vote Bachao-Desh Bachao” campaign of opposition.

Neeraj Kundan accused the BJP and the central government of “amending the law to remove the CJI from the selection panel of CEC and ECs against the directions of apex court and inventing various modes of “Vote Chori” and deletion of crores of genuine votes through SIR and several other modes.” He maintained that the media too exposed the “large scale illegalities being committed by the CEC to help BJP in the Vote Chori.”

Former minister Yogesh Sawhney said that people were fully aware of the campaign of LOP Rahul Gandhi. He also raised the issue of “failure of BJP MLAs of Jammu to properly utilise their CDF for the overall developmental needs of the general public.”

Former minister Mula Ram too criticised Modi government for, what he alleged, “indulging in the attack on the basic right of vote in the democracy.” He also referred to the damage caused to the paddy crop of farmers by recent rains and demanded adequate compensation to the farmers by the government.

Earlier the party distanced itself from the statement of NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah, stating, “J&K is an integral part of India and Pakistan has no role to interfere.”
