Jammu, Sep 27: Dr Varinder Sharma, a distinguished doctor, filmmaker, singer and politician has been conferred with a prestigious honour by the Global Human Rights Trust.
The award was presented by Member Rajya Sabha and BJP J&K secretary, Gulam Ali Khatana, at a recent function held in Jammu.
It was asserted that Dr Sharma’s professional excellence in the medical field earned him widespread respect, while his work as a filmmaker and singer reflected his deep-rooted passion for the arts.
“A committed nationalist, Dr Sharma consistently championed the social and regional causes of Jammu and Kashmir and raised his voice on matters of public importance.
From highlighting adulteration in food and medicines to flagging development gaps, local grievances and shortcomings in governance, he offered out-of-the-box solutions in the service of the people,” it was pointed out in a press statement.
