Jammu, October 31: Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi visited the fire-ravaged Shiv Market in Jammu to assess the damage caused by a massive blaze that gutted dozens of shops and severely affected the livelihoods of local traders.
Expressing solidarity with the affected traders on behalf of the AIP leadership, Inam Un Nabi urged the Omar Abdullah-led government to announce an immediate relief package, conduct a transparent assessment of losses and provide adequate compensation without unnecessary delays.
The AIP spokesperson said the affected traders should not be left to rebuild their lives on assurances alone, pointing out that the shops represented years of hard work, substantial investment and the primary source of income for many families.
He called for immediate financial assistance and a time-bound rehabilitation plan to help the affected traders restore their businesses and livelihoods.
Inam Un Nabi further said the government must move beyond expressions of sympathy and political assurances and demonstrate its commitment through tangible relief measures, timely compensation and a clear roadmap for the restoration of the damaged businesses.
The Awami Itihaad Party reiterated its solidarity with the affected trading community and urged the administration to take immediate steps to address the concerns of traders impacted by the devastating fire.
