Srinagar, Oct 7: The government postponed by a day the provincial holiday in Kashmir on account of the Urs of Sheikh Nooruddin Noorani (RA).

According to government Order No 1614-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) on October 7, the holiday earlier scheduled for Thursday, October 8, will now be observed on Friday, October 9.
The order was issued in partial modification of Government Order No 1894-JK(GAD) of 2025 dated December 12, 2025.
The holiday will apply to Kashmir Province only.
The order, issued by the Lieutenant Governor, J&K, was signed by M Raju, Commissioner Secretary to the Government, GAD.
