Srinagar, Oct 6: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Women’s Wing President and MLA Habba Kadal Shameema Firdous Tuesday said that sports are an effective means of nurturing the talent of the younger generation, engaging them in positive activities and keeping them away from social evils such as drug abuse.
She was speaking while interacting with a delegation of players associated with the Football Club (FC Passionate) led by Zubair Ahmad. The players, as per a statement, apprised Shameema Firdous of the difficulties they were facing in pursuing sports.
They said they wanted to build their future in sports and bring recognition to Jammu and Kashmir at the national and international levels, but lack of resources and essential facilities was creating hurdles in their path.
