Awantipora, Sep 23: The HabbaKhatoon Centre for Kashmiri Language and Literature at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) organised an academic outreach visit to the ancient archaeological site of Burzahama on September 17.
The programme aimed to deepen students’ understanding of Kashmir’s history, culture and archaeological heritage through field-based learning and direct engagement with the site.
Students, faculty members and research scholars explored the historical significance of Burzahama and its place in Kashmir’s civilisational history. The visit also encouraged discussions on heritage conservation and the importance of studying and preserving archaeological resources.
The programme was coordinated by Dr Afshana, Head of the HabbaKhatoon Centre.
The Centre said the field visit provided students an opportunity to connect classroom learning with the region’s historical and cultural landscape, while developing a greater appreciation of Kashmir’s heritage and community history.
