Srinagar, Oct 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday amended its Delegation of Financial Powers, adding the Secretary (Technical), Jal Shakti Department (JSD), and the Secretary (Technical), Power Development Department (PDD), to the list of authorities empowered to sanction and award contracts.

In a notification issued as S.O. 257, the Finance Department (Codes Division) said the Lieutenant Governor, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 67 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, had directed amendments to Annexure-I of the Delegation of Financial Powers to accord Administrative Approval, Technical Sanction and Award of Contracts.

The original delegation was notified vide S.O. 15 dated January 9, 2020.

The amendment concerns Table C of the annexure, headed “Power to sanction/award contracts.” Against Serial Numbers 4 and 5 of the table, the notification says that new entries shall be added below the “Extent and Remarks” column, alongside Serial Numbers 3 and 1, respectively.

The entries added are the Secretary (Technical) JSD and the Secretary (Technical) PDD.

The order was issued “by order of the Lieutenant Governor” and signed by Shailendra Kumar, Financial Commissioner (ACS), Finance Department.
