Kargil, Jul 26: Ladakh Lt Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Sunday inaugurated a farmers’ hostel of the agriculture department in Lower Kurbathang to strengthen support infrastructure for the community.
After the inauguration, Saxena interacted with farmers and listened to their grievances and suggestions regarding agricultural development and related issues.
He assured them of all possible support from the administration to promote sustainable agriculture and improve farmers’ livelihoods, an official spokesperson said.
He also visited the Hi-Tech Greenhouses established by the Agriculture Department, where he appreciated the department’s efforts and the progressive farmers in adopting modern farming techniques.
During the visit, the Lt Governor inquired about crop production, cultivation practices, and the overall performance of the greenhouse units.
Saxena encouraged farmers to make full use of advanced agricultural technologies to enhance productivity and income.
