Pahalgam, Oct 2: MLA Pahalgam Altaf Ahmad Wani (Kaloo) has refuted the allegations of him assaulting a policeman. He has termed them baseless and sought a fair and impartial inquiry into the matter.
According to the legislator, the police personnel who has leveled the allegations was absent from duty when he questioned him about his absence. In a press statement, he has further alleged that the policeman pushed him when he sought an explanation for not being present on duty.
Wani has requested the IGP Kashmir and the SSP Anantnag to look into the matter and conduct a fair and impartial inquiry so that the facts of the incident can be established.
He has also urged the police authorities to verify and clarify the facts before issuing any official press note or statement regarding the incident, maintaining that the matter should be examined objectively and on the basis of the actual facts.
