Srinagar, Sep 30: MLA Lal Chowk, Ahsan Pardesi, formally kick-started an important water supply infrastructure project at Ayesha Colony, Padshahi Bagh, aimed at strengthening the drinking water distribution network and ensuring improved water supply to the residents.
Accompanied by the Superintending Engineer and Executive Engineer of the Jal Shakti Department, Pardesi, as per a statement issued on Wednesday initiated the work for providing, laying and fitting of the main, sub-main and distribution system at an estimated cost of Rs 57.87 lakh.
The project addresses a long-pending demand of the local residents and is expected to substantially improve the water supply infrastructure in the area. Residents welcomed the commencement of the work and expressed their gratitude to the MLA and the Jal Shakti Department for addressing an issue that had remained pending for a considerable period.
Interacting with the residents, Ahsan Pardesi said that strengthening basic amenities and addressing genuine public concerns remain a priority. He assured them that other developmental issues raised by the locality would also be taken up with the concerned departments for appropriate redressal.
Ahsan Pardesi also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the senior officials of the Jal Shakti Department for their proactive approach and cooperation in resolving the issue.
