Bari was the youngest participant at the invitational Labaika Cup Golf Tournament 2026 held at the Royal Springs Golf Course (RSGC), Srinagar, where around 80 golfers competed in the event.

Speaking on the sidelines of the tournament, the young golfer said he played nine holes with a friend, winning three to four holes, while his opponent won five.

Bari said golf had now become his favourite sport and expressed a desire to participate in more tournaments in the future.

Asked about his golfing role models, he named professional golfer Khalin Joshi and his uncle, Shabaz Sikandar, among his favourites.

Despite his young age, Bari is already thinking about how to continue practising when weather conditions make it difficult to visit the golf course. He said he would practise at home during rain and snowfall.

With his enthusiasm for the game and eagerness to return to the course, Bari offered a glimpse of how early exposure can help nurture the next generation of golfers in Kashmir.
