The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, congratulated Lovepreet Singh and Seema on winning the medals at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.
Lovepreet Singh won Silver medal in the Men’s +110 kg weightlifting event at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.
The Prime Minister, as per a PIB statement, noted that Lovepreet Singh set a new Commonwealth Games record in the snatch event with his outstanding effort.
PM Modi lauded his dedication and determination and extended his best wishes for his future endeavours.
The Prime Minister wrote on X; “Exceptional performance by Lovepreet Singh for winning a Silver in the Men’s +110kg event. PM Modi also congratulated Seema on winning the bronze medal in the Women’s Discus Throw event at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.
The Prime Minister noted that Seema secured the medal with a best throw of 58.65 metres.
PM Modi said that her achievement has made India proud and inspired the youth of the nation. He wished her the very best for her future endeavours.
