Banihal, Sep 26: Army XI defeated Media XI in a friendly cricket match played at the Banihal Sports Stadium on Saturday, a day ahead of the final of the ongoing Indian Army Cricket League (IABL).
The exhibition match was organised to promote interaction and friendly relations between the Army and the local media fraternity. Both sides displayed competitive cricket, with Army XI eventually securing victory.
The match was held as part of the activities surrounding the Shaheed Atul Sumbra Memorial Cricket Tournament, being conducted under the banner of the Indian Army Cricket League since September 6.
The tournament has witnessed participation from 32 teams, including 16 teams from Ramban district and 16 teams from other districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The competition has provided young cricketers from different areas an opportunity to showcase their talent on a common platform.
