Government Polytechnic for Women, Srinagar, on Monday commenced a five-day Advanced Training of Trainers (ToT) programme in the Tailoring Trade under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, aimed at strengthening vocational training and enhancing the skills of trainers across the Kashmir division.
Organised under the theme “Skill Development for Nation Building,” the programme seeks to build the capacity of prospective trainers and promote quality skill development in traditional crafts.
The PM Vishwakarma Scheme supports artisans and craftspeople through skill training, technology, credit assistance and market linkages.
A total of 28 prospective trainers from various institutions across the Kashmir division are participating in the programme. The advanced training is designed to equip them with enhanced technical expertise and modern training methodologies, enabling them to effectively impart vocational skills in their respective institutions and communities.
The training is being conducted by Uma Sharma, Master Trainer for Advanced Training of Trainers in the Tailoring Trade under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. Participants will receive hands-on training and advanced inputs in tailoring, trainer development and trade-specific skill enhancement.
Principal of Government Polytechnic for Women, Srinagar, Er. Imtiaz Ahmad, said the institution remains committed to promoting vocational excellence and strengthening the capacity of trainers through quality skill development initiatives.
He said the programme reflects the institution’s commitment to contributing to the vision of a skilled and self-reliant nation under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
