Srinagar, Oct 01: The Income Tax Department, Srinagar, organised a Shramdaan programme under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ initiative, with around 70 officers and staff participating in a cleanliness drive along the Jhelum riverfront in Srinagar.

The programme was led by Monika Dhami, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. As part of the ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath Shramdaan’ initiative, the participants cleaned a two-kilometre stretch of public space along the riverfront and removed non-biodegradable waste, including plastic waste, wrappers and bottle caps.

The one-hour cleanliness drive resulted in the collection of nearly ten large garbage bags of waste, which were subsequently collected for disposal.
