Srinagar, Oct 3: Jammu and Kashmir struck back in quick succession after lunch to put Rest of India under pressure on the third day of the Irani Cup at the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium here on Saturday.
Rest of India, who were comfortably placed at 120 for two at lunch, have slipped to 134 for five following a flurry of wickets after the break.
J&K pacer Umar Nazir, who changed his ends, triggered the collapse by dismissing set batter Sanat Sangwan for 55, shortly after the opener completed his half-century. Nazir struck again soon after, removing another batter as J&K tightened the screws.
Sarfaraz Khan was also dismissed for the second time in the match, further compounding Rest of India’s troubles.
Rest of India had been bowled out for 237 in their first innings, while J&K posted 278 to take a crucial 41-run first-innings lead. The visitors now lead overall by 93 runs with five wickets down.
