Jammu, Jul 7: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin on Tuesday emphasised the synergised efforts to win people’s trust in J&K – the ideological cradle of party, bolster organisational structure and expand its (BJP’s) footprints across the Union Territory.
He exhorted the BJP MLAs to work proactively in tandem with the cadre to address people’s issues to strengthen the party’s prospects with “nation first” approach.
Nitin Nabin made this exhortation during his address in a joint meeting with the J&K MPs, MLAs, former MLAs, former Legislative Council members, state general secretaries, former District Development Council (DDC) members and former Block Development Council (BDC) members.
At the outset of the meeting, he reviewed the prevailing socio-political situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the organisational roadmap for the coming months. He emphasised that the BJP’s greatest strength was in its disciplined organisation and dedicated cadre, asserting that elected representatives and organisational workers must function as one cohesive team to further strengthen the party at the grassroots.
NitinNabin said that every MP, MLA and senior leader should maintain constant coordination with the party cadre, ensuring their active participation in all organisational programmes. He said that such synergy between the organisation and public representatives was indispensable for strengthening the BJP’s presence across every village, ward and booth.
He called upon all leaders to intensify public contact, remain accessible to the people and effectively communicate the policies and achievements of the Narendra Modi-led government.
BJP national general secretary, RajyaSabha MP, and in-charge J&K affairs TarunChugh; J&K BJP president and RajyaSabha MP Sat Sharma; Union Minister of State in PMO DrJitendra Singh; Leader of the Opposition in J&K Legislative Assembly Sunil Sharma and former Deputy Chief Minister DrNirmal Singh shared the dais with the national president in the meeting at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Laying special emphasis on the “Mann Ki Baat” programme, NitinNabin directed that it must be organised at every single booth across Jammu and Kashmir with maximum public participation. He pointed out that through “Mann Ki Baat”, the Prime Minister consistently highlighted ordinary citizens achieving extraordinary feats and encouraged numerous social reform movements, inspiring millions to contribute towards nation-building.
NitinNabin, along with other senior leaders appreciated the dedicated efforts of MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia under Udhampur district for successfully organising “Mann Ki Baat” programmes on maximum booths and asked others to maximize their efforts in the coming months.
Sat Sharma said that the guidance provided by the national president would further energise the party cadre across Jammu and Kashmir. He said the J&K BJP always functioned with discipline and dedication, and every worker was committed to taking the party’s programmes to the grassroots. He affirmed that all elected representatives would work in complete coordination with the organisational structure, ensuring that every campaign, meeting and public outreach programme reached the booth level.
Prior to the meeting. NitinNabin, accompanied by Chugh, Sat Sharma, Dr. Jitendra Singh, MLA YudhvirSethi and other senior BJP leaders, paid floral tributes to the legendary nationalist leader and PrajaParishad founder, Sher-e-DuggarPanditPremNathDogra, at his statue at PanditPremNathDograChowk, Jammu.
The BJP president described Dogra as one of the tallest architects of nationalist politics in the region. He remembered his immense contribution to the cause of national unity and the complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India. He said that Dogra‘s sacrifices continued to inspire generations of BJP workers.
“Pandit Prem Nath Dogra and Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee devoted their entire life to safeguarding the unity, integrity and sovereignty of India. They led the struggle for “EkNishan, EkVidhan, Ek Pradhan”, which became the ideological foundation of the movement that ultimately culminated in the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A under the leadership of Prime Minister NarendraModi. The people of Jammu & Kashmir have now attained the true benefits of constitutional equality, democratic empowerment and accelerated development, fulfilling the vision of PremNathDogra and DrMookherjee,” said Nabin.
TarunChugh said that the BJP drew its strength from the sacrifices of nationalist icons like Pandit Prem Nath Dogra, who fearlessly opposed separatist politics and worked tirelessly for complete national integration. He said, “Today’s stronger, peaceful and development-oriented Jammu & Kashmir stands as a tribute to those visionary leaders who never compromised on the nation’s unity.”
Sat Sharma said that every BJP worker in J&K considered Dogra an eternal source of inspiration. He added that the organisation remained committed to carrying forward his ideals by strengthening the party at the grassroots while serving every section of society with dedication and nationalism.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the constitutional changes made under Prime Minister NarendraModi gave practical shape to the aspirations for which Pandit Prem Nath Dogra dedicated his life, ushering in an era of equal rights, equal opportunities and unprecedented development for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
