Jammu, Jul 28: The Jammu & Kashmir Tennis Ball Cricket Association has selected the Union Territory’s Junior Boys, Senior Men and Senior Women teams for the All India Tennis Ball Cricket Championship to be held in Jaipur from July 28 to 30.
The 47 players, as per a statement were picked after two days of selection trials in Jammu, with the 52-member contingent, including coaches and officials, receiving clearance from the J&K Sports Council ahead of the national event.
The teams were selected following two-day selection trials conducted at M.A. Stadium, Jammu, on July 25 and 26, in which players from across the Union Territory participated. A total of 47 players were selected across the three categories, including coaches, managers and officials. The Jammu & Kashmir contingent comprises 52 members.
The selected teams were officially screened by the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council on July 27 before their participation in the national championship.
The Senior Men’s team comprises Syed Zahoor Ahmad Indrabi, Danesh Kumar, Mushaf Javid, Majid Rasool Wani, Adnan Fairooz, Salik Sajad, Faizan Mubarak, Anzar Nabi, Faizan Bin Hassan, Rajveer Singh, Tabish Hilal, Arsalan Rafi, Azan Gulzar, Sartaj Ahmad Shah, Awsaf Javid and Umar Manzoor Bhat. Farooq Ahmad is the Coach-cum-Manager of the team.
The Senior Women’s team comprises Heena Bhat, Harleen Kaur, Navya Sethi, Arzoo Wakhloo, Hameen Kaunsar, Misba Rasool, Arousha Fayaz, Ain-al-Saba, Aqsa Gulzar, Aashna Irshad, Aiman Latief, Mir Arusha Iqbal, Hadiya Gulzar, Sheikh Sehar Hassan and Nadia Khursheed. Ravi Thakur is the Coach, while Mehboba Gull is the Manager of the team.
The Junior Boys’ team comprises Mohd Rizwan Pir, Abrar-ul-Haq, Pandith AhzunYazdam, Aarish Fayaz Naik, Gurjot Singh, Syed Sheikh Haseebu Zaman, Faizan Sheikh, Syed Sheikh Munazim, Absar-ul-Nisar, Amaan Afzal, Ariyan Tufail, Suhaib Abbas, Syed Hammad Al Rub, Ahmad Tanveer Farooqi, Shah Baezil and Zaid Ibn Sajad. Faizan Qayoom is the Coach-cum-Manager of the team.
Congratulating the selected players and officials, the office bearers of the Jammu & Kashmir Tennis Ball Cricket Association expressed confidence that the teams would represent the Union Territory with dedication, discipline and the true spirit of sportsmanship at the prestigious national championship.
The Association extended its best wishes to the entire contingent for a successful campaign and expressed hope that the players would bring laurels to Jammu & Kashmir through outstanding performances in Jaipur.
