Leh, Aug 14: Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Friday inaugurated an indoor shooting range and multi-purpose hall in Leh to strengthen the training, fitness and professional capacity of police personnel.
The multi-purpose hall will facilitate indoor sports activities, including badminton, table tennis, wrestling and taekwondo, besides serving as an all-weather facility for in-service training, refresher courses and professional capacity building of police personnel, he said.
“Delighted to inaugurate the multi-purpose hall and indoor shooting range at the district police line, today in Leh,” the LG said in a post on X.
The state-of-the-art indoor shooting range, established in collaboration with the Ladakh Shooting Association, will provide structured training under expert coaching to police personnel as well as the people of Ladakh, Saxena said.
He also said a similar facility has been developed at Kargil.
In view of Ladakh’s challenging climatic conditions, such all-weather facilities are a vital investment in the fitness, training and well-being of police personnel, the LG said.
“These facilities reflect our commitment to a modern, professional, technologically equipped and people-friendly Police force, while creating better opportunities for our young talent,” he added.
