The initiative was not just a medical camp but part of a wider campaign to take health awareness directly to communities with limited access to technology and specialised health information.

Dr Zubair Saleem, Senior Geriatric Consultant, and Rukhsana Murtaza, Counsellor at CHC Pattan, spoke during the awareness session, highlighting the early warning signs of dementia, the importance of timely medical consultation and the need to challenge the misconception that persistent memory loss is simply a normal part of ageing.

Special emphasis was placed on guiding caregivers to support people living with dementia with patience, empathy and dignity. Families were encouraged to avoid arguing with or scolding patients for forgetfulness, maintain familiar routines, ensure their safety and seek medical advice when symptoms appear.

The camp was supported by the Block Medical Officer (BMO), Pattan, with GK Communications serving as the media outreach partner.

Through this initiative, MMF aims to bridge the awareness gap by reaching people beyond digital platforms and bringing reliable health information directly to underserved communities.
