Sopore, Oct 15: Sopore Police on Thursday conducted a comprehensive security mock drill at Sopore Railway Station to assess preparedness against potential threats from anti-national elements (ANEs) and strengthen emergency response mechanisms.
The exercise was conducted in coordination with Railway Police Sopore, Fire and Emergency Services Sopore, CORAS Budgam, 52 RR, SOG Sopore and SDRF Sopore, bringing multiple security and emergency response agencies together to test their operational readiness.
The primary objective of the drill was to evaluate inter-agency coordination, response time and the effectiveness of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in a simulated security threat scenario.
During the exercise, the participating agencies demonstrated coordinated efforts and operational synergy. Necessary corrections and instructions were issued on the spot to address gaps, improve coordination and further strengthen the collective response mechanism.
Sopore Police said such exercises are crucial for enhancing security preparedness and ensuring a swift, effective and coordinated response to any potential threat or untoward incident in the future.
