Senior IPS officer Anand Jain assumed the charge as Director General of Police (DGP) Ladakh union territory on Tuesday.
Anand Jain a IPS officer of 1999 batch served as ADG Armed, ADG Jammu and IGP Jammu along with several other assignments in J&K.
The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, on Monday ordered the transfer of 1999 batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer Anand Jain from Jammu and Kashmir and posted him as Director General of Police, Ladakh.
On his arrival at the Police Headquarters, Leh, Anand Jain, was warmly welcomed & received by senior officers of Ladakh Police. A Ceremonial Guard of Honour was accorded to DGP Anand Jain, as a mark of respect and to formally welcome him to his new assignment as the head of Ladakh Police. Following the ceremonial reception, the Director General of Police interacted with senior officers of Ladakh Police as well as officers and officials of the Police Headquarters.
During the interaction, he exchanged views on key policing priorities and the functioning of the force, an official statement said. Thereafter, the DGP visited various offices and sections of the Police Headquarters to familiarize himself with their functioning and ongoing activities.
The visit concluded with an introductory meeting in the DGP’s Chamber, where senior officers briefed him on the organizational structure, operational responsibilities, law and order scenario, security challenges, and other important aspects of policing in the Union Territory.
The newly posted DGP Ladakh Anand Jain, expressed his commitment to strengthening professional policing, enhancing public trust, and further improving the efficiency and effectiveness of
Ladakh Police in serving the people of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
