The chargesheet, according to an official spokesperson, has been produced before the court of 4th Additional Munsiff Jammu against Sohan Lal Singh and his father Veer Singh (now expired) for allegedly obtaining government job as a dental assistant using a forged 10th class mark sheet and certificate in case FIR number 55/2025 U/S 420,465,467,468,471,120- B, RPC Police Station Crime Branch (EOW) Jammu.

The case originated from a communication received from the CID Headquarters, J&K, alleging that Sohan Lal Singh had been serving as a Dental Assistant at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Arnia for nearly two decades based on a fraudulent matriculation certificate purportedly issued in Bihar or Uttar Pradesh.

The investigation led by DySP Vishal Sharma revealed that the accused completed 8th class examination and never passed the 10th class through his school. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Jammu, confirmed erasure and chemical alterations on the mark sheet and school records exposed discrepancies in his date of birth. Statements and evidence corroborated that the Veer Singh (now expired) working as driver in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, procured forged credentials for his then minor son and subsequently used the falsified records as a major, completed Dental Assistant training and secure appointment through J&K Service Selection Board.

“On the basis of evidence collected during the investigation, offenses U/S 420,465,467,468,471,120-B RPC have been established against the accused persons. Accordingly, the Crime Branch has filed the chargesheet in the court of 4th Additional Munsiff Jammu against Sohan Lal Singh and his father Veer Singh (now expired) for judicial determination,” spokesperson said.

SSP Crime Branch EOW Jammu has cautioned the general public to remain vigilant against such economic frauds and report any such incident to Crime Branch EOW Jammu (Crime Branch, J&K). “Victims of economic frauds may also submit their complaints via email at sspcrimejmu@jkpolice.gov.in or contact on telephone No. 0191-2578901,” he said.
