A delegation of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) led by its President, Javid Ahmad Tenga, on Wednesday called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and discussed measures to strengthen trade, commerce and the overall business environment in Jammu and Kashmir.
The delegation comprised KCCI Secretary General Faiz Ahmad Bakshi, Executive Committee member Ashiq Shangloo and past presidents A.M. Mattoo and G.M. Dug.
During the meeting, the delegation discussed issues concerning the business community and measures required to facilitate trade and commercial activity across Jammu and Kashmir.
The KCCI representatives highlighted the need for continued government-industry engagement to address issues confronting businesses and create a more conducive environment for investment, entrepreneurship and economic growth.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for the Chamber to put forward the concerns and suggestions of the business community before the Chief Minister.
The KCCI leadership stressed the importance of strengthening coordination between the government and the private sector to support existing businesses, encourage new investments and improve the ease of doing business in the Union Territory.
The Chief Minister, according to the Chamber, heard the delegation and discussed the issues raised during the meeting.
