At least nine persons sustained injuries after they were attacked by stray dogs in different areas of Langate on Wednesday.
An official said that the attacks took place at multiple locations during the morning hours, causing panic among residents.
“The injured were immediately evacuated to GMC Handwara for treatment,” he said.
An official at GMC Handwara said that all the injured were provided treatment and they were responding well.
The incident has triggered concern among locals, who have urged the authorities to take immediate measures to tackle the growing stray dog menace and prevent such incidents in the future. Later MLA Langate, Sheikh Khursheed visited GMC Handwara to enquire about the well being of the injured.
