Srinagar, Oct 26: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Jammu and Kashmir, will organise the sixth edition of the CII J&K Apple Conclave 2026 in Srinagar on October 28, with a focus on technological innovation, modern cultivation practices and strengthening market linkages for the region’s apple sector.
The conclave, themed “From Orchard to Global Markets: Driving Apple Sector Transformation through Technology, Innovation and Partnerships”, aims to bring together stakeholders to discuss the future of apple cultivation, technological advancements and the development of efficient supply chains in J&K.
Javid Ahmad Dar, Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperation and Election, Government of J&K, will attend the event as the chief guest.
Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), will be the guest of honour.
The conclave will focus on three key thematic areas: the future of apple cultivation, precision horticulture and smart farming, and post-harvest innovation and smart supply chains.
Discussions are expected to centre on improving orchard management, promoting the adoption of modern agricultural technologies, strengthening post-harvest handling and developing more efficient supply-chain systems.
The event will also deliberate on ways to enhance the competitiveness of Jammu and Kashmir’s apple industry in domestic and international markets through innovation, industry collaboration and stronger market linkages.
With apple cultivation forming a major component of the region’s horticultural economy, the conclave is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to explore technology-driven solutions and partnerships aimed at improving productivity, quality and market access.
